South America

Agrium Wholesale operates through a 50 percent joint venture in Profertil S.A Nitrogen Operations located in Bahia Blanca, Argentina (outside of Buenos Aires).  Our joint venture partner is Repsol YPF S.A., one of the leading private oil companies in the world.

Commercial production began at the Profertil plant in the third quarter of 2000.  With approximately 300 employees, Profertil has an annual production capacity of approximately 1.3 million net tonnes.

Europe

Based in Brussels, Belgium, Agrium Europe is one of Western Europe's largest fertilizer providers. Its focus is on the purchasing, marketing, sales and distribution of fertilizer products mainly within the European market.  The organization also provides custom blending, bagging and palletizing services, and has access to key dry and liquid storage facilities.  Agrium Europe has 8 sales offices across France, Germany, Belgium, the UK, Italy and Bulgaria, and employs approximately 70 employees/contractors, and has combined annual sales of approximately 2.5 million tonnes.

Egypt

Agrium Wholesale owns a 26 percent equity interest in the Misr Oil Processing Company (MOPCO).  This facility currently has an annual nitrogen production capacity of approximately 600 thousand tonnes.  Construction has commenced on two additional production trains that will boost the annual production capacity by another 1.2 million tonnes.  Production is anticipated to begin in early 2012.  Product from this plant will be marketed and distributed globally, with a key focus on Europe and the United States.
