Growing a Great Place to Work

Agrium was named a Canadian Top 100 Employer in 2011 and an Alberta Top 50 Employer for the 7th year in a row. We offer excellent opportunities for employee growth and development, and we support employees with coaching, mentoring, training and education.

Compensation

Salaried Employees

In addition to being market competitive, our compensation philosophy for our salaried/staff employees reflects a pay-for-performance approach. The salary structure allows for significant upside potential for higher performing employees.

Hourly Employees

Base pay structures for hourly, non-unionized roles vary by operating unit to respond to local competitive practices. In several locations, hourly employees are expected to progress through different pay levels based on achievement of training and development milestones.

Annual Incentive Program

Regular full and part-time salaried and hourly non-union employees also participate in an Annual Incentive Program. The Annual Incentive Program is comprised of up to two elements: a profit sharing plan (PSP) that is available to all non-union employees and a performance recognition plan (PRP) that is additionally available to overtime ineligible employees.

Profit Sharing Plan (PSP)

When Agrium Wholesale meets and exceeds its business goals we know it’s because of the hard work of our employees. Employees have taken a results-oriented approach, made a commitment to doing the right things at the right time and remained focused on continuous improvement. To share in the organization’s success, all non-union employees are eligible for annual profit sharing payouts. At target, the plan is designed to pay out a percentage of earnings, with upside potential (to a stated maximum) for overachievement of results. Payouts vary annually based on profitability.

Performance Recognition Plan (PRP)

The Performance Recognition Plan is available to reward those employees who are not eligible for overtime. This plan rewards employees for individual and collective efforts in support of our Agrium strategies and results.

Long Term Incentive Program (LTIP)

Agrium offers a long term incentive program as part of its competitive compensation package for senior leaders and offers this same benefit on a discretionary basis to high performing senior professionals.
