Agrium’s Vanscoy Site Resumes Operation

May 13, 2010 - Vanscoy, SK – Agrium Inc. (TSX and NYSE: AGU) announced that its Vanscoy Potash Operations was welcoming back full crews to ramp up operations in the mill and the mine.

“Although there is no perfect time to start up, we felt that this was a reasonable time to resume operations,” said Mike Dirham, General Manager, Vanscoy Potash.

The investigations into the accident on May 11th are still ongoing. Agrium continues to work with the authorities and are also proceeding with the OHC and internal investigations.

“We continue to offer support to Mr. Artic’s family as well as our employees at the site,” added Dirham. “Our first priority remains the safety of our employees. We want to ensure a safe start up for everyone and are confident that site and area are safe to resume work.”
